Edwin Rodriguez

Rodriguez sensei began his studies of Aiki Jujutsu under Ubertini sensei several years ago and quickly became one of the dojo's top students based on his technique and commitment to training.  His martial arts studies started many years ago starting with Karate as a teenager in the NYC area.  Eventually, he returned to training as an adult and quickly committed himself to his training. 

He has attended many seminars with Johnstone and Hobbs sensei and received his Yondan grading directly from Hobbs sensei.  Working with Ubertini sensei closely for a number of years, he now runs classes on Monday evenings giving the student body a different understanding  of our waza.

Iaijutsu

Andrew Mencher

Mencher sensei started his martial arts training in Goshinjutsu/Jujutsu in the early 2000's as a young student eventually reaching his Shodan several years later.  He studies of Iaido started in Muso Shinden Ryu while in college.  Many years later, he officially joined Masakatsukan studying Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu under Ubertini sensei and has attended many seminars and workshops with Erik Johnstone sensei as well as frequent opportunities to train with Carl Long, Hanshi. 

As one of Ubertini sensei's most trusted students, Mencher sensei regularly assists during regular training sessions and often leads new students in learning the art.  Andrew also studies Aikijujutsu.

Marlene Thomas

Thomas sensei started her martial arts training as as a young teenager almost 20 years ago in Shotokan Karate eventually training under the tutelage of the famous Toyotaro Miyazaki sensei.  Her training in Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu started a number of years ago and is one of the dojo's most technical practitioners. 

Amongst iaijutsu and kenjutsu, Thomas sensei is also a Shotokan instructor at the Bayside US Shotokai Dojo and is also an dedicated practitioner to Aiki Jujutsu and Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate-Do.
